September 5, 2018, Charlotte, NC – Waiter’s Choice Catering is proud to announce and welcome Matthew Flory as our new Director of Culinary Operations. Flory will be responsible for production procedures, menu creation, talent development, sanitation systems and health requirements, and enhancing customer experience.
A veteran in the hospitality industry, Flory brings over 15 years of culinary experience to the Waiter’s Choice team. “I’m ready to become part of the Waiter’s Choice family and use my expertise to reinforce a productive and positive culture for all employees and produce the best culinary experience for our customers”, said Flory.
Starting his culinary journey in Connecticut, Flory traveled to Colorado where he honed his skills in culinary management and menu design. Moving to Charlotte, NC in 2007, Flory further cultivated his management and culinary skills as a Sous Chef, Production Manager and Operations Manager including the last five years leading a team of over 100 employees and managers for HMSHost, a global restaurateur that manages food and beverage options at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. HMSHost has received several recognitions for Best New Food and Beverage Concept by both Airport Revenue News and Airports Council International-North America.
Flory has been recognized for his expertise by being featured several times on Fox News Rising. Three of those times were for culinary strategies and tips, and a fourth for the popular “Farm to Fork” approach. “With his expertise in overseeing all aspects of running successful and high performing teams, I’m excited to see the impact Matt will have on Waiter’s Choice”, said Jim Barnes, President of Waiter’s Choice.
Flory graduated from Johnson and Wales with a degree in Food Service Management. He is married with two children, ages seven and two.
